Bridge Crane Gear Box Emergency Repair

Innovative Engineering and Maintenance executed an emergency repair of a bridge crane gear box. Their crane drum bearing collapsed and unfortunately caused damage to the shaft bearing and seal surfaces. The shaft was severely damaged, requiring a ¼” of weld build up and re-machining. IE&M worked around the clock to repair the shaft, install bearings and seals and re-install the drum.

The facility was back in service within 48 hours.
